Drop down Filters:

The drop down filters enable you to narrow the Product List to either a single item or a group of items based upon the Filtering criteria that you choose:

Here we have chosen to filter by Botanical Name.   This will result in a filtered list with only that item in it.  If you have that Item in multiple sizes, all sizes will be displayed.  Conversely, if you would have filtered it by Product number, it would be an exact search, displaying only that one particular Item.

Common Name and Genus work the same way:   In this example, we have filtered by Genus "Buxus" and have found 23 varieties.

Categories are defined by the user and may be unique to you.  In this example, we have filtered by a Category of "Shrubs" to shrink the list to just those items that belong to that Category.   Each Item can belong to up to 3 Categories and will be displayed when filtered by any of those 3.    Because Categories are user-defined, not pre-set by the software, you can customize them to function the way that serves you best.   Example:  if it were September and you decided to print fresh SALE SIGNS for everything that has nice fall color, and you had "Fall Color" as one of your categories, you could filter the list and get an instant list of all plants that you have categorized as having fall color.   It would then be very easy to pick and choose which ones you want to put on sale and generate signage for.
